The Community Foundation of North Louisiana to honor Mahogany's Founder & Artistic Director
Angelique Feaster Evans as the
2012 G. Scott Griffin Award recipient

"As an actor, director, producer, and teaching artist, I am an “artistic messenger” using my God-given talents to touch, move, and inspire others through powerful mediums of expression.  Although I was born completely deaf in my right ear, I’ve been blessed with the remarkable gift of being a great communicator and have used my “voice” as a positive catalyst for change."
--Angelique Feaster Evans

The award is named in honor of G. Scott Griffin, who was a multi-disciplinary, multi-media artist with accomplishments in musical composition, multi-instrumental performance, photography, videography, digital enhancement of art and cinematography. Because of these achievements, few people recognized that Griffin had to overcome adversity in the performance of his art.
This award was created to keep his memory alive and to honor those artists who approach their art and life with the same passion and persistence as Griffin.
